This Vintage 1950's 26ft (185 sq/ft) Airstream-turned-Tiny-Home was one of two retrofitted into elegant bungalows, featuring claw foot tubs, for the East of Eden Retreat and Spa in Florida.

After an amazing year in this Tiny Home, I have decided to build a custom 600 sq/ft tiny home on the Northern California Coast. Due to CCC restrictions, I am unable to use this home as a primary residence.

The perfect buyer for this home would be someone with space for an ADU in San Francisco that is looking for extra space/Airbnb rental income. Similar Airstream homes rent on Airbnb for $150 a night, that's over 50k a year in potential rental income.

 

While this tiny home is still mobile, it has been converted into a "park model" with a 30 AMP Shore connection and standard 120v electrical panel. The plumbing has been updated to PEX, with a standard sewer outlet (no dump valves).

Please know that when I first saw this Airstream for sale, it was posted in Florida 25oo miles away, with  few photos, and no details. I called and eventually talked to the owner, who had MANY interested parties, and offered to put down a deposit to hold it, so I could fly out and inspect before purchase. I used paypal to send the deposit, bought a ticket, and hoped for the best once I got there.

I had no idea how I was going to get it back to California, or how I was going to go directly from house living to a single room. What I did know was that I had never seen an Airstream like this. I found out later this was because the owner never planned on selling it (as in it was created to keep, not to sell).

In less than a week, it was on its way to California via Uship.com (user drivermike00 was amazing), and soon arrived in sunny California in perfect condition.

After over a year living tiny, I can honestly say that my experience in this Airstream was exactly what I needed to try out tiny. It truly is a turn-key home. The bed is beyond comfortable, the kitchen is roomy with enough storage (both cold +dry). and you actually want to spend time in the bathroom (not a coffin). This is a one-of-a-kind tiny home. (Seriously, check out the tub!)

Can this be towed?
Yes. In fact, it was towed 2500 miles from Florida to California on its first journey after being used as housing for an off-grid retreat. Before it was towed, a little over a year ago, the tires wire replaced and the axel bearings were
repacked.

I have a non 4x4 SUV can it pull it ?
Probably, depends on the tow capacity of your vehicle. The Airstream currently weighs about 3500 pounds. My SUV is rated at 4500 pounds and tows easily.

How is the body condition?
The body is clean, especially for a being a 50's model.

Does it have any leaks?
There were no leaks during the year I have owned it. The Airstream was updated and sealed with spray foam by the previous owner, and survived the 2,500 trip from Florida to California through mostly snow storms without issue.

What kind of toilet does it have?
Currently the Airstream has a normal porcelain flushing toilet. If you are looking for an off-grid option, I would recommend the SEPARETT VILLA 9210 AC/DC

What kind of holding tanks/batteries does it have?
None.This Airstream was converted from an RV to a Tiny Home. All holding tanks and 12v wiring were removed and replaced with a normal 120v external electrical panel with 30amp shore connection, PEX plumbing, and a sewer drain.

Great job on the Airstream! / Can you build me one?
Thank you for the kind words, but I was not the builder of the airstream. I purchased directly from the owner (who updated two airstreams as accommodations) of an off grid spa/retreat when they closed, and had it towed to California.
