About
I designed this tiny house with spaciousness and customizability in mind. Intended as a dwelling, office, studio, or additional bedroom, the space has enough amenities to feel comfortable, with enough room to make it your own. The house is wired for a 30 amp hookup, but could easily scale down to a standard 20 amp exterior electrical hookup. The house includes a 5-gallon water heater to minimize power draw and utility requirements. Additional utilities can be easily installed to fit your needs. A separate countertop in between the ladder and bathroom wall has recently been installed. A compost or flush toilet will also be provided, depending on your preference. A built-in ladder with shelves is currently installed, but other accessibility options are available. The living room area provides 100 sqft of customizable space, with plenty of room for chairs, couches, storage... whatever your priorities are with the space.
A bit about me: I've been building custom tiny houses for the past nine years, beginning with my very own in 2013 (pictured in my profile). The years of insight gained from living in a tiny house has given me essential insight into what works vs. what doesn't, what functions vs. what simply looks good on social media. This house was designed and built entirely by myself and my apprentice, Daniel, with particular attention paid to efficiency, durability, and moisture prevention. Drainable house wrap has been installed behind the siding, and we used Grace Ice & Water Shield as our roofing membrane to ensure no water ever gets in. The roof is also vented to allow any humidity that finds its way in from the living space to evaporate out.
Aesthetically, I designed this house with the intent of striking a balance between what I view as the two most compelling aspects of tiny homes on wheels: 1) their utility, and 2) their coziness. The exterior uses sheet metal roofing and side walls to evoke a modern/industrial feel, while the natural cedar siding and house shape are intended to remind one of a cozy cabin. The interior walls are smooth and white in a modern fashion so the eye is drawn to the hemlock ceiling and matching trim. Every board has been sanded and varnished by hand, and I opted to use a brush rather than a sprayer because I believe handcrafted objects are at their best when you can see the maker's fingerprints on them. This house was a true labor of love, and I hope you enjoy it.
