About
We have traveled in this fantastic bus for 4 years and now it is someone else’s turn to enjoy it!!
We are selling our 2005 Thomas Freightliner school bus with 180,660 miles on it. Just getting broken in!
Our original idea was to live in the bus while exploring and working in various mountain towns across the Western United States. We have happily done so for about 5 years now, but our plans have changed, so now we're selling it.
The bus has a 6-cylinder, 6.4L, turbocharged, Mercedes diesel engine in it--known for its long life span when taken care of. The bus is automatic, has cruise control, a back up camera and a tow-assist system. It's very comfortable to drive while going down the highway and has a very good-running engine.
It has two flat screen smart TV's. One in the living area, and a mounted one in the back bedroom area.
The couch is comfortable, but should be replaced due to wear and tear/damaged cushions.
It has two sky lights where emergency roof exits once were. Perfect for laying in the bed, or on the couch, and watching the stars above. (The front sun light's plexiglass is slightly cracked and should eventually be replaced)
It has one RV style roof-mounted air conditioner that runs and is wired externally that needs to be powered either by a generator or shore power. It currently does not blow cool air. We will be including a portable A/C unit that perfectly cools the bus and will be sufficient until the roof unit can be repaired if you wish to do so. We will also include a large propane heater that is very powerful and effective. It can heat the bus up to over 80 degrees, and we will also be including an electric fake fireplace heater that is perfect for overnight heating. It is not advised to leave on the propane heater for extended periods of time and also unattended.
There is a kitchen sink that currently drains (by RV septic hose) into any common septic set-up at RV parks or campsites. The shower also drains directly to a septic tank (not a grey/black water tank). The bathroom is a wet bath which means the shower and toilet are both in the same room. The toilet is a compost toilet to avoid plumbing issues and unpleasant sewage smells.
Meals can be cooked with the included 3-burner propane stove or oven of the Furrion stove/oven combo.
Our Skoolie has a full-size Galanz refrigerator, about a year old, with the fridge on the bottom and freezer on the top As well as a new tankless water heater, also about a year old that will put out hot water in seconds.
The propane used for the stove and hot water heater are separate lines. There are 2 propane hook ups under the bus and space to put the tanks. (not mounted)
This bus has plenty of storage. There are two closets in the hallway for hanging clothes. One of the closets includes 2 large and deep drawers and 2 smaller drawers for your storage needs. For additional storage, there are also 2 large and deep drawers built into the bed-frame.
The master bedroom is in the back of the bus with a Full-sized bed. There are curtains on both sides and the back wall of the bedroom to allow light in, or provide a comfortable darkness for daytime sleeping.
Behind the bed is the rear emergency exit door which provides access to additional storage beneath the bed with access from the exterior rear of the bus.
Below the bed is a large freshwater tank and pump for off-grid usage if needed. This is also where the circuit breaker is located. This breaker is powered by a 30Amp RV power cord attached through the exterior driver's side of the bus.
There is a water hose attachment on the rear passenger side of the bus that feeds the kitchen sink and bathroom shower when an external water source is available.
Alongside the circuit breaker is wiring for future solar set-up, already wired to the 4 solar panels on the roof.
This bus is very well-equipped for full-time living, road trips, camping, or tailgating.
The price is firm and we don't have financing available so please keep that in mind.
