About

Step into your next adventure in style. Whether you’re a couple, small family, or solo traveler/nomad, this classic 1991 Skoolie International is waiting for you. Hit the road full time, use for camping trips, an onsite guest quarters, AirBnb, the possibilities are endless! Turnkey or customize to make her your own!

History: My wife and I brought this converted Skoolie home to Northern Michigan from Virginia last fall, with the intentions of updating it and taking it on the road with our two dogs. As often happens, life got in the way and our beloved bloodhound Amos came down with cancer. Even driving 20 minutes into town makes him a bit nauseous with the meds he’s on, so we decided that now wasn’t the best time to hit the road. We wanted to make the most of his time left with us at home.

Decision behind us, we still knew that we had many updates we wanted to make in order to get this bus ready for its next owner’s adventures. So, we spent the past several months prepping her for you!

• Service or Replace Electric 15 Gallon Water Heater (Just Didn’t have Time to Get to This One)
• Service Heating Element of Rooftop Unit
• Speedometer Is not Accurate, (We Just Used an App on Our Phone, Works Great)
• Fuel Gauge Is not Accurate (Mechanic should have changed this when working on fuel system, isn’t a huge deal though. You’ll get way over 300 miles per tank, so just plan fuel stops accordingly).
• Transmission Gasket has a Small Leak, Transmission was tested, working great, just a small, slow leak from the gasket. We opted not to replace and just to add a little transmission fluid on long trips when we stop for gas.
• May want to Paint the Exterior. Just a Cosmetic Thing Though.
• Might Want to Drop some Extra Equipment Below the Bus that Isn’t Needed. (Extra Diesel Fuel Tank, Unleaded Gas Tank for Generator, Gas Generator (Told that it Just Needs New Carburetor)
• Connect your AC/DC Power Together to Gain AC Power from Bus Invertor While Running (Super Easy to Do, and Gives You an Additional Power Source!)

This beauty is 95% of the way there, we didn’t want to make all the decisions for her next owner, so hit the road and make her your own as you go!

*** We know there is a lot of curiosity and excitement about living/traveling in a skoolie, but please only serious inquiries. And know that while you can insure a skoolie as an RV, a bank will not offer a loan for one, so you need to be able to purchase with cash, no owner financing offered. We know, major bummer!***
