About

We named this Tiny House Ivy Walls as it was constructed by the Ives and Wallace families who have been friends for years.  The Ivy Walls is securely married to a 1973 Flatbed dually truck.  We have lived in this cozy home for a year and are now building custom designed Tiny House.  So although we love this little space it is time to list her.

Questions you might have:

Electricity and plumbing: We have an over head light and outlets that serve our Vitamix, Nuwave oven, computer etc. The sink is plumbed of course but that is all. The toilet is portable/Compost that must be manually dumped. An RV toilet that dumps into the sewer could be installed but we have decided against it personally.

Insulation, cooking and utility costs: It is very well insulated with rigid insulation and comes with skirting. We had a very cozy warm winter even with the temperature dropped below 0. We have a wood stove that heats the space up very quickly and for mornings when we have to be up and out without time to build the fire we used a small electric heater or a propane heater. The cook top is propane. During our coldest month this past winter the electric bill was $35 and the propane cost was $5. Last month the electric bill was $11..... so I suppose most of that $35 was the electric heater during the cold nights after the wood stove died down.  A small refrigerator fits under the table.  (New Note: Summer electric has been under $5 per month)

I also forgot to mention that there is no shower in this Tiny House. That has not been a problem for us as we live in an RV park or have parked at our daughters house and used their showers or we wash up at the sink.

The Tiny House when parked and the deck is down measures to be 24' 4" long.

Deck 3' 1"
Living Space mainfloor 12' 2"
Upper sleeping space 3' 10"
Cab of Truck from Living Space to front bumper 9' 1" (we use this for storage when parked)
The outside width is 7' 10'.
The inside of the cab needs some TLC but the upholstery has been redone already and is in good shape and the seat is comfortable.

The manual transmission engine has 94,809 miles and we were told that the original owner used it as a flat bed on a farm near Salem so evidently it does not have many in town or freeway miles. When we bought it we had some issues with old gas and rust in the gas tank, it had been sitting for a long time. That is now resolved as we cleaned out the gas tank, replaced some gas lines and installed a new gas filter. Although we drove it to Yakima/Tri Cities Washington last summer we haven't driven it since we skirted it for the winter. The skirting will have to come off and the engine tuned up after months of sitting. At that time the water pump needs to be replaced, and the radiator flushed and some work done on the electrical for the head lights as sometimes there is a noise when they are turned on. Other than those things the engine sounds good. It gets about 9 MPG when traveling.  The tires have plenty of tread and there is a spare.
