About the Separate Composting Toilet:
This composting toilet separates liquids from solids. When you sit on the toilet seat a flap will open for the solids compartment. Sit slightly forward for liquids and after each use, pour a little water down the drain to wash it away, preventing buildup and odor.

Open the top unit to place a composting bag inside the bin, be sure to empty out at least every 2 weeks as the bag itself will begin to decompose. To clean, simply remove the bag and wipe out the bin and replace with a new bag. There is a small fan filter with a yellow rim you will pull off and rinse out with each cleaning as well.

About the Fresh Water Tank
To fill, begin by opening the outside valve into the house. When the lever is parallel with the spout it is open, perpendicular is closed. Upstairs in the loft you will then turn the top lever off (this is the water pump) and the lower lever open to allow water into the tank. Fill the tank up, if you happen to lose track of it, there is an overflow that will send the water up and out through the roof.

When it is full, turn water off, then outside valve, followed by closing inside valve and turning pump back on. If you hear the pump stop and start it can help to run a faucet for a second to release air/ equalize pressure.
