Our intention is to design and create the most beautiful, functional, mobile studio units that can be used in a variety of ways -
an auxillary space to an existing house, a vacation hut, an efficient urban studio.

NATURAL
Comfort and health are the two main principles that lead the design of the NAMU HAUS. Built with natural materials, an air-tight - but breathable wall structure and an energy and resource saving utility-system the NAMU HAUS is an attempt to build more natural, more attainable and more versatile housing.

MODERN
The NAMU HAUS is a small space inspired by modern american and asian architecture.
It embraces the principle of living essentially, so that your body and mind come back to the root of what is necessary and to find joy in the small. We did consider that there should be plenty of storage space to accommodate our necessities with the change of seasons and occasions.

In the Studio Model, we gave a nod to the minimalist lifestyle by elevating the living room platform that converts into a sleeping area with fold out futons by night.

Utilizing passive house standards allow for a new architectural style, design and appearance of the house. We explore these new materials and their aesthetic properties. The open jointed cedar siding is the first part of it.

MODULAR
Modularity equates to versatility. In making of our first prototype, we envisioned NAMU HAUS as the perfect retreat studio where you can let your body and mind regenerate surrounded by nature.

We see it providing a home on a trailer or on a foundation. It could have one room, or more. One can build multiple and connect them, or distribute them in the landscape as a larger nature retreat.
