About
--- Price reduced because we're ready to invest in our next home! We're not offering rent-to-own so consider the new price a down payment but with no additional monthly payments! :) ----
This custom-built tiny home is ready for a family of 1-2. The structure was built starting from Tumbleweed Tiny House's Cypress 20' plans and the inside was custom-designed by my husband and I. The pine interior siding and cedar accents make for a bright but cozy cabin feel. There are 11 windows total, which let in tons of natural light.
Upon entering the home you'll see a comfortable seating space for 3-4 to relax, eat, and enjoy time together. The sofa bench opens up to reveal a large storage space underneath. The kitchen is spacious and allows for cooking and food prep. Installed in the counter is a 2-unit propane stove, which connects to a reusable propane tank outside of the home through a propane line. There are generous shelves for storing food, dishes, and glassware, and a stove-side fan so that when you cook, the moisture and smells don't linger in the home.
Just past the kitchen you'll see lots of storage space on the custom shelves, the top of which can be used as a standing desk if you'd like to work from home. To the right of this office space is the bathroom (a curtain can be affixed to create privacy). The included Nature's Head composting toilet is the top-of-the-line standard for tiny homes, so that you only put out gray water (from the shower and sink) and no black water (sewage). The 12V in-toilet fan has a converter that plugs into an outlet earn the bathroom. There's also a bathroom fan/light combo to provide light in this space and to keep the moisture and smell from the bathroom always heading outdoors.
This home has RV-like hookups for water and electric. The outer siding is cedar, which naturally resists rot and bugs. We recommend coating it in the next warm season and every 4-5 years after that. The roof is Onduvilla, installed so that the shingles can resist high-speed winds while the house is being transported. The included 10,000 BTU air conditioning and heating unit, which conveniently sits outside of the tiny home, so that it doesn't take up valuable floor or wall space. The 11 windows' frames are long-lasting vinyl in a simple white color. Each one has a screen so you can let in a great breeze during pleasant weather.
Tumbleweed estimates a finished Cypress 20' tiny home to be about $64,000. (We've lived in it October 2017-present). We spent ~$28,000 on materials while building the home. $4500 of that was spent purchasing a custom Tumbleweed 20' steel trailer to begin the build with.
