About
My wife and I built his Tiny House on Wheels in the fall of 2015 and have lived in it full-time since then. It has given us the freedom to travel the country and allowed us to really appreciate simple living. We built this tiny house with quality and longevity in mind; we didn't skimp on materials in an effort to save money or make a quick buck. Most tiny homes we've seen are framed 24 inches on center and covered in OSB to save money and weight. We wanted the sturdiest of homes to pull down the freeway, so we framed ours 16 inches on center and used real plywood to sheath everything. Our home stays cool in the hot summer months and toasty warm in the winter because it's insulated all over with professionally sprayed closed-cell foam and comes with a tiny wood stove. The house uses barely any power; all lights are LEDs and the fridge is the only thing that really uses electricity. This could easily be converted to solar power. Underneath the metal roof is a thick layer of waterproof membrane to protect your roof from water, ice and snow.
