8’ x 20’ Off Grid Tiny House

My wife and I lived in this tiny house for a few years. It is time for us to move on as our goals have changed.

This tiny house if off grid. Has 4 large solar panels on the roof. The electrical system is setup in a way that it runs off solar until the battery bank drops below a certain point and utility power will kick in to charge the batteries back to max capacity. It can be switched to run off utility power directly. It’s also setup so you can add more solar power if you wanted and you could add more batteries if you wanted.

The water system is setup so you can run off the 100 gallon tank or switch over to run off a pressurized system. Stovetop is electric. Oven and water heater run off propane. Heater runs off propane and heats the house wonderfully down to about 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside. If you need more heat there’s also the mini split. We wanted to add a mini stove but never got around to it. Has hookups for washer dryer combo. We had a California king mattress in the loft. And still had room on the sides for a little storage.

Also has a mini split that can heat and cool the home. I’ll be honest, it did get warm in the summer till I stacked some firewood up on the west wall. That insulated the house nicely from the sun. And the loft cools off quickly with the big windows that hinge up and out.

There is space for a fridge to be installed if you wanted, using either electric or propane.
