There are many trails traversing numerous state parks nearby Townshend State Park, Townshend Dam, Jamaica State Park and the West River Trail as well as popular rivers to kayak or canoe.

Various gourmet restaurants and shopping outlets are a 45 minute drive from the cabin in Manchester, Vermont. Brattleboro is a short 20 minute commute.
