*Sips = structural insulative panel systems. This tiny home is built from high quality repurposed sips. These panels are commonly used in commercial freezer construction. In this “upcycled” use the panels create light weight, rigid and highly insulative quality for the tiny home. The panels are framed with 2x6 lumber, filled with closed cell insulation and bonded to galvanized steel sheet both sides for radiant energy reflection yielding R40 value insulation . Floors, walls and roof are all made of sips. Purchased new, these sips would be far too costly for residential construction. In this upcycled purpose they are affordable, effective and ecological.
