About
Introducing sweet Bobby Blue, our home for the past year. 2020 has been eventful and often difficult, but we’ve been so fortunate to have our little bus in the wilderness as stay at home orders kept so many people inside. We’ve traveled up and down the east coast, social distancing in state and national parks, and learning how to live both tiny and nomadically. Now, we’re ready to downsize to a smaller rig, and want to find someone who will love Bobby Blue as much as we have.
When we bought this bus in 2019, it already had a lot going for it: solar and electric installed, plus the stunning custom tongue-in-groove cedar ceiling you can see in the pictures. The interior height is 6’4” and we’ve kept an open floor plan with tons of natural light, so it feels way more spacious than a lot of rigs. Both the floor and ceiling are well-insulated — which we appreciated when January winds whipped off the Atlantic on the Outer Banks! In its first life, Bobby was a meticulously-maintained school bus, and it shows in how well it still handles. And at only 24 feet long, it’s easy to navigate on winding country roads and city streets alike.
In our remodel of the interior, we went for a “New England Beach Cottage on Wheels” kind of vibe: all white and natural wood, with navy and grey accents. The cupboard and drawer pulls are knots of silky navy rope. The floor is waterproof grey vinyl planks laid over kilz-sealed subflooring over insulation. We made custom screens for many of the original windows and the side door — nothing like having coffee on the couch while enjoying bug-free breezes off the ocean.
We’re in no rush to sell (I mean, we are in the midst of a pandemic after all) and just want to find our beautiful bus a good home.
Asking 26,000 OBO. We cannot offer financing. We are open to negotiating with serious buyers, but please don’t offer us peanuts for Bobby Blue; we’re definitely selling at a loss already.
