Tiny Cabin on Wheels

This tiny house was a dream come true for my wife and we are sad to see it go. We purchased the house from John Hard, a boutique tiny home builder in Twain, CA.

Walls are pine tongue-and-groove on the interior and exterior, with the exterior weatherproofed with linseed and tung oil. Trim is beautiful, hand-cut cedar, and there are redwood transoms and accents throughout.

The insulation is 100% wool. It breathes nicely and keeps the atmosphere in the home very temperate. Roof is copper-colored steel and very durable.

The home has no plumbing or electrical. We wished to keep the energy and ambience in the home pure and natural. We used an outhouse in the summer and a simple indoor composting toilet in the winter (not included). For lighting and electricity needs we used two LED solar-powered lanterns and chargers (also not included).

The house comes with a 4k Dwarf Woodstove from tinywoodstove.com (will need to be uninstalled before delivery as it is not currently secured for travel) and a Newport Dickinson Marine propane heater (not currently installed). The woodstove heat shield is beautiful slate tile.

As you can see in the pictures, the home has an open floor plan, and the walls are built caravan-style, with a bowed roof. These features make the interior feel very spacious. There is one loft for sleeping in the front of the home and a half-loft for storage in the rear.

My wife and I lived in this home for a year with our two children (3 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old), and we felt very much at home. However we have recently decided to move back to the city to be more integrated with our spiritual community. Hopefully one day in the near future we'll be able to return to a rural lifestyle.

The home is built on a tandem axle Car Hauler with a 7,500 lb. load capacity. I am willing to deliver this home to any of the 48 states (not Alaska or Hawaii!) at a rate of $2.95 per mile calculated from Maybee, MI).
