Tiny home/ shipping container home for sale (LAND NOT INCLUDED)
Container size : LWH: 40ft x 8ft x 9ft
Contemporary sci-fi themed.

he Future Begins In Your Home

Why not live in a home that truly is a work of art? Ideal for a camp, an Airbnb property or a budget starter home, this super unique Sci-Fi Container Home in the middle of Louisiana is something completely out of this world.

The home is built inside a 40’ long, 8’ wide shipping container offering a spacious 240 sq. ft. of living space. While there are no windows cut into the container there is a glass front door complete with a frosted glass honeycombing. The short end of the container where loading/unloading typically takes place has also been left open to expose a set of sliding glass doors allowing for another egress as well as some natural light.

The front door opens directly into the kitchen area which is small but highly functional. While the walls continue the honeycombing with embossed designs in the sheetrock, there are also some spaces where the pattern raises from the wall giving a very cool sort of Buck Rogers feel. That trippy, early 80s swirl of light and design is continued onto the countertop which is itself a swirl pattern of blues and whites. The kitchen currently has a Samsung electric stove with 4 burners as well as a black enamel country apron style sink complete with brushed metal swinging hinge faucet. At the right of the sink is a built-in area for the fridge as well as closed cabinetry above for storage. To the left of the sink is a breakfast bar/knee wall nook with built-in shelving that is great for spices or other kitchen tools.

On the other side of the knee wall and down two small steps is a sunken living space which is geometrically interesting combining both subway tile and honeycomb tile on the floor and multiple sizes of honeycomb on the walls. It features a mini-split HVAC unit and is where the panel box can be found for the house. It is also the side of the house with the sliding glass doors. While not huge the doors do allow in natural light which combined with LED fixtures throughout and the white walls and white floor, make the home seem much larger than it is.

Moving down the hallway of the container the first stop beyond the central kitchen is the utility nook which is large enough for a full-size stacking washer/dryer. It is adorned with honeycombing as well and even features a lucite type of art piece with a water droplet and thermostat in red to indicate the use of warm water. Behind the art panel are two tankless Eco Smart hot water heaters that allow for continuous hot water throughout the house. This plays against the blue art design panel found just next door in the bathroom. The panel is a clever design to hide the PEX manifold that is the hub of all water activity throughout the house. The commode itself is an Uspa bio bidet with a multitude of functions including a heated seat and heated water. The toilet room also has a sliding door for privacy as well as overhead light and exhaust fan.

Moving just next door is the rain closet. In it is a large, Japanese onsen style tiled shower, as well as a sink and geometric mirror. The shower closet also has a sliding door for privacy.

At the end of the home is the master bedroom which has a raised Queen size bed. The platform is built so as to allow for closed-door storage areas including a couple of seasonal storage bays underneath the mattress. The most striking part of the room is the LED light panel that wraps around the room at mid-wall and continues out and down the hall. It really gives the Sci-Fi home a nice Interstellar feel. The bedroom also has a mini-split HVAC of its own allowing for temperature control at both ends of the house.

In all, the house is not the log cabin or lake house feel some feel is synonymous with the modern tiny house movement. It is poised for the future though and at just $45,000 is ready to become your home. It will definitely have the neighbors speculating as to what just landed next door!
