With clean lines, natural materials & a neutral color palette, this “Japandi” tiny house is the perfect space for relaxation and tranquility. The use of large architectural windows letting in abundant natural light, creates an inviting atmosphere that will make you instantly feel zen from the moment you step inside. The distinctive charred wood exterior made using the Japanese technique of “shou sugi ban” creates a rich, dark surface with varying textures, evoking a sense of depth and character. The narrow door adds a modern touch by reducing visual distractions and creating a sleek and streamlined appearance.

This tiny house is designed with functionality in mind. Despite its compact size, a clever and efficient layout maximizes every inch of space. The main floor includes two platforms inspired by traditional tatami-mat rooms in Japan. The living platform serves as a dining area and place to socialize during the day and at night can be transformed into a comfy spot to watch movies and/or sleep. The sleeping platform fits a queen mattress. Under both platforms is lots of storage! In addition, the ~70sf loft (which includes enough space to stand for most) fits a king or queen mattress or two twin mattresses.

This tiny home was professionally-built in Colorado.
