In late 2005 in High Point, North Carolina, a Thomas Saf-T Liner rolled off the assembly line never knowing that beyond its life in school transit it would become a beautiful cabin on wheels. But that is exactly what happened and it sits waiting in middle Tennessee for its new homeowner.

This Sea Foam green skoolie is 40 feet long by 8.5 feet wide. It rides on 2 axles and has 66,000 miles on the engine. It was recently inspected and had all fluids and filters serviced. The tires are good and it has new batteries. The first thing to notice though is that extensive work has been done on this conversion including removing all the bus windows, re-skinning the actual shell, and outfitting the home with ten RV windows. The walls and ceiling has two inches of closed cell spray foam insulation and the floor has been retrofitted with 1.5-inches of rigid foam board.

Upon entering the large glass exterior front door (using the key code deadbolt, of course) you are immediately welcomed by a clean, light, bright space with tons of storage and a number of modern amenities. The floor itself is a waterproof vinyl plank while the interior walls are pine shiplap that have been whitewashed and polyurethaned.

At entry you are greeted by two opposing sets of drawers with ample countertop space for any number of activities. The custom cabinets throughout are built with baltic birch and feature dovetailed drawers and latches to keep the drawers closed while in transit.

Just after the two cabinets is the living area which consists of a comfortable, custom, 3-person couch (which also becomes a twin bed) directly across from a mounted flatscreen TV. Underneath the television is a wall-mount countertop perfect for holding books, your Xbox, picture frames, and so much more. It is the perfect segway into the kitchen area.

Highlighted by the long butcher block countertops is a 3-burner gas stove/oven, a Norcold dual power gas/electric refrigerator, and a large apron front farmhouse sink. The countertop also has USB outlets and decorative outlet covers. The LED recessed lights are also controlled by dimmers for work mode and relax mode.

Past the kitchen on one side is a beautiful set of drawers and a hanging closet that is big enough for even the most style-conscious homeowner. Across the aisle from it is the bathroom which has an extremely spacious tile shower and a Natures Head Composting Toilet. Hot water in both the shower and the kitchen are provided by an Excel tankless, on-demand hot water heater.

At the rear of the tiny house on wheels is the bedroom. Large enough for a queen bed, the bedroom also has one of the two 1200 BTU mini-split units and room for a mounted flat screen TV. There is also rough storage under the bed accessed through the back door of the bus.

In terms of infrastructure this cabin on wheels is equipped with:

a 3.5 gpm shurflo rv water pump
a 100-gallon fresh water tank
a 40-gallon grey water tank for the sink
a 50-gallon grey water tank for the shower
3 seperate 20lb propane tanks mounted in an exterior storage box

To power this incredible home there is an RV-style 50 amp shore power hook up on the drive side of the outside of the bus. To go off-grid there is a new Predator 3500 gas generator on board.

This skoolie is recently converted, professionally done so, and never lived in. It is waiting for someone to call it home and at just $67,000 it is definitely not going to last long.
