About
The combination of salvaged wood and patina metal is one that has become very trendy over the past few years. Beyond that though, it is a look that transforms one to a time of the Wild West or a goldminers cabin California. This listing carries such rustic charm from the exterior to the interior with no stops in between. It is as comfortable and cozy as it is adventurous and charismatic.
The 235 sq.ft. tiny home on wheels houses a living space, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a sleeping loft space. Entry is through a standard entry door on the passenger side of the tandem axle trailer. The bottom half of the home is corrugated metal while the top portion is salvage, stained pine. There are seven windows in the home and the roof is corrugated metal. The home is fully electric but also has propane on the tongue of the trailer.
Once inside you are directly in the kitchen. While the walls are standard plywood they have been given a dose of extra personality through the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban treatment. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, a 2-burner convection stovetop, a stainless steel sink, and a washer/dryer combo at the end of the countertop. There are also base cabinets in the kitchen and open shelving around. There is a window above the sink, which offers tremendous natural light for cooking. The flooring in the kitchen and throughout the house is vinyl plank capable of enduring heavy foot traffic.
The bathroom, complete with compost commode, plumbing for a traditional commode, a fiberglass shower unit, and a corrugated metal sink, is behind a closed door just off the kitchen. The water for both the kitchen and the bathroom is kept warm by an on-demand hot water heater.
Access to the sleeping loft is often a consideration for THOW owners. This particular listing takes that into consideration and has a staircase up to the bed that is just above the kitchen countertop. The staircase has a galvanized pipe handle which is both aesthetically pleasing and sturdy.
The upstairs sleeping loft has a slight slope and it is capable of holding a queen-size bed. There are four windows for circulation, light, and temperature control. The loft also has a handrail constructed of galvanized pipe as well. One of the cool features of the sleeping loft is that it looks down on the living area which has large windows, room for a large loveseat, and a television mount for movie night in the tiny house.
At the current listing price this tiny house is not going to last long. It carries an air of rustic charm but it is incredibly functional and well-equipped. To find out more, contact Chelsea at 843-417-9157 or by emailing Chelsea@tinyhouselistings.com. Financing may be available.
