Tiny houses on wheels are built to provide a safe shelter for those who are looking to embrace the world as their living room and who don’t focus on large houses and big footprints. But some are more equipped than others and some are far more comfortable than others. That is this tiny house. Located in New Mexico, this 271 sq.ft. tiny house is ready for on-grid or off-grid life without a discernible difference!

Built on a Trailer Made 24’ long, tandem axle trailer, the exterior is fundamental with no dormers, no cantilevers, and no hips and valleys in the roofline. Instead, the roof is on a slope and skinned in metal. The exterior of the home is a beautiful mixture of cedar lap siding with corrugated metal. The 8 windows are Pella double pane, gliding windows aligned so as to create ventilation and cross-breeze within the home.

While the home does have a large solar system built to power the house and all of its appliances, it can also be hooked up to shore power via a 50amp RV plug located on the outside of the home just next to the entry door.

Once you enter the inward swing front door you are greeted by a mostly open floor plan that includes room for a small sitting area (with a custom bench already built), a kitchen, a staircase leading up to the sleeping loft, a bathroom with commode and shower stall, and yes, an upstairs sleeping compartment. The house actually features two lofts. One is for storage and measures 7’4” x 2’4” while the other is for sleeping and measures 7’4” x 8’6”.

The interior walls are pine T&G and the flooring throughout is Lifeproof brand waterproof vinyl plank flooring. The house is constructed with traditional framing lumber and insulated with closed cell spray foam. It is incredibly air tight and keeps a solid temperature created by a 20,000 BTU Martin propane wall furnace. There is also a ceiling fan in the middle of the house to help with ventilation and circulation.

Perhaps most striking in regards to this tiny house on wheels is the kitchen. With its copper countertops, 4-burner range and full oven, exhaust vent range hood, full-size fridge, deep double sink, and ample storage, it has much more kitchen than most tiny houses offer. It is designed for real cooking twenty-one times a week!

The bathroom is kept private by a sliding barn door but when open, reveals a curved shower stall, a small sink basin, a vanity mirror, and room for either a compost or conventional commode. The showers are kept warm by a Rinnai, propane-powered 6.6 GPM, on-demand hot water heater. Propane tanks are included with the sale of the house. The bathroom area also features a washer/dryer hookup for complete convenience. The house also has a 110-gallon water storage container that is built on-board or there is a water inlet for a direct water source.

This wood and metal combination home is ready for any environment. Like the New Mexican landscape where it currently lives, it is tough and beautiful. It won’t last long though.
