About

This home is built for adventures and for well under the cost of a more traditional RV, it won’t last long. Please call 704-508-9046 to inquire or apply for financing for this tiny house here.
Fully off grid school bus conversion with a 16" roof raise.
Perfect for living in full time or for a weekend adventure rig.

Are you looking for a home on wheels that is stylish, reliable, fun, and ready to roll? Then look no further than this 36-foot, 2001 Thomas built Freightliner diesel bus. With it’s custom paint job, 16” roof raise, and rooftop deck, she is anything but your average Skoolie!

With 220k miles, she truly is in the prime of her life and with upgrades like all new tires and breaks (Feb. 2020), a new injector pump (Oct. 2020), a new air filter (Dec. 2020), and a replaced fuel tank (Jan. 2021), the tiny house is in sound mechanical condition and has even had her oil changed every 8,000 miles.

The bus is 36-feet bumper to bumper with a 12’6” exterior height. That provides a spacious 196 sq.ft. of living space inside with 7’6” of interior headroom. Powered by a Cummin 5.9L 24 valve engine and Allison transmission, the bus is also equipped with hydraulic brakes for maximum stopping power. In addition to the rooftop deck, this Skoolie also has a detachable basketball goal (regulation height), built-in storage capable of holding 2-20 lb. propane tanks underneath the bus, a garage section to store bikes, tools, and outdoor gear, and 3-175w Renogy monocrystalline solar panels. Combined with the 400ah lithium battery bank, there is no reason this adventure wagon can’t keep you off-grid and in the wilds of America for days at a time!

Because this Skoolie was converted for all-terrain adventures, the power system also features:

a 3,000w pure sine Renogy inverter
a 40-amp MPPT Renogy Rover charge controller
a Victron smarthunt battery monitor that sync with a smartphone app
a 200-amp Victron battery isolator, which allows battery charging from the bus alternator
a 120v break box with 12v fuse panel

With its original school bus folding door, entrance to the home is both nostalgic and foreshadowing all at once. The three entrance steps lead to a custom built wood storage area to the right and wall-to-wall vinyl flooring to the right. Overhead and running through the bus is reclaimed and distressed pallet wood. The house has a very warm, cozy vibe that makes you feel at home the instant you enter the living area. Speaking of which, the living area has a custom sofa that pulls out to reveal a sleeping space with storage underneath. Across from it is a fold out desk/table with an accompanying LG ultrawide 34” monitor with swing arm. Because of the 16” roof raise, the tiny wood stove in the corner is perfect and makes the area feel so spacious. The stove area also has log storage underneath and a tile firewall. In the ceiling there is a Maxxfan for circulation and ventilation but also a skylight with an attached rope ladder that leads to the roof deck.

Across from the tiny wood stove is the highly functional kitchen area that features a Furion 3-burner propane stove/oven, a larger stainless steel sink with a faucet/sprayer head, and all tucked into a run of faux concrete countertop. There is ample work space for prep cooking and chopping fruits and veggies. The backsplash is a brick pattern giving the area a very industrial and stylish feel. There are overhead cabinets, a pullout pantry, a coffee drawer, a drawer for large pots, and base cabinet storage. There are outlets right at the kitchen countertop as well which means there is room for a coffee pot, an air fryer, a smoothie machine, or anything else you may need come mealtime! Food is kept temperature controlled in an Iceco VL65 dual zone fridge/freezer.

The bedroom and bathroom are at the rear of the rig and are more than comfortable. The bed alone is a queen size with 3 deep bedside shelves for clothing storage. If that weren’t enough though, the bus also features a closet with slide out mirror and two additional drawers for seasonal clothes. Next to the bedroom is the bathroom which is composed of a tile shower with rain head faucet, tiled flooring, and room for a full-size composting toilet. The bathroom (and kitchen sink) are supplied by a 100-gallon fresh water tank and serviced by a 65-gallon grey water tank. There is also a Girard propane tankless hot water heater for long, warm showers. To make sure the water coming through the bus is high quality, there is an onboard 12v Shurflo water pump and filtration system. The whole plumbing system is accessible via an outside fill up port and blow out fitting for winterization. Perhaps the nicest feature of the rear of the bus though is the windows in the bedroom. You can go to sleep by the stars out your window and wake up to the sun. It is nothing less than magical.

The entire bus has spray foam insulation and LED lighting throughout.
