What can you do and where can you explore in a 2014 International school bus converted into an incredibly stylish home on wheels? Answer? Anywhere! And with an International IC engine and a Cummings Transmission, you can hit the road running. The Cobalt tiny house is 25’ long and about 185 square feet. The entry is through a 9-pane exterior door painted to match. Stylistically the layout is an open one to give the skoolie a more studio-esque appeal. Capable of more than just taking to the open road, the Mama Bear Converted Bus is totally off-grid capable featuring a 3000W Pure sine wave inverter, 4-100W solar panels, and 3 Battleborn deep cycle batteries (100Ah, 12V Lithium). The bus also has a 30amp hookup for shore power.

Entering the bus presents the driver’s area to the right as well as the wet bath that includes a small shower pan and a vented composting toilet. Across from it is a small couch that pulls out into a bed and also has a swivel table mounted beside it.

The kitchen is the primary part of the bus and is outfitted for real cooking and not just EZ Bake oven style. It has base cabinetry, cabinets above the head, a stainless steel under-mount sink, a 3-burner gas cooktop stove with oven, and a stainless steel fridge/freezer. In addition, the kitchen has glass mosaic 1” x 1” tiles, and shiplap finish work. The sink is powered by a SeaFlo 12V pump and a Bosch electric hot water tank (4-gallon).

The rear of the bus is the bedroom and even has a mounted 32” smart TV. Above the bed is a Dometic Fantastic fan with rain sensor and below it is a sizeable garage perfect for storing a number of tools, equipment, and adventure gear. The entire bus is insulated with Reflectix curtains on each side and the back window. There is also a backup camera for easy navigation and a Wee Boost for amplified cell signal in those remote locations.
