Imagine if a hobbit house, a caboose, a Vardo wagon, a tiny house on wheels, and a Gypsy wagon, were to all combine to create one very original Craftsman Cottage? That is just what this listing is. But sitting atop a tandem axle, 2013 model Bri-Mar manufactured trailer, it is completely portable. You can be the traveling salesman from the musical ‘The Music Man’ or just a mysterious man passing through town in this THOW. Whatever your fancy, it is a true gem with some great features while still being “under construction” enough for your personal touches.

The house itself is wood-framed and skinned in painted plywood. The trimwork is a bright red, with each window being framed with a middle eastern-inspired demi-arch of sorts. Perhaps the most interesting architectural feature though is the lofted roof which only extends the headspace by about 18” but gives enough room for a continuous row of transom windows that let in considerable light to the space. It also makes for an interesting conversation point from the outside of the house. Entry is at the tongue end of the trailer which also boasts a fold down front porch. The roofline actually extends over the porch when folded down and the trailer hitch when not.

Once inside you are met with a barrage of various woods all sustainably harvested off the property the house was built on. From oak and pine to cherry and cedar, there is a little bit of everything, as one would expect. Unlike other tiny houses on the market the interior space is not riddled with furniture, built-ins, or shelves and cabinets. It allows the construction and the unique materials to speak for it, beginning with the oak floors rubbed with 100% organic lemon citrus oil sealer.

To the right is a set of ladder steps that lead up to the sleeping loft. Big enough for a queen size bed, the loft has a rather large window on each side, and some live edge wood indicating the headboard and side tables. It certainly looks as if it makes for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Back downstairs and to the left of the entry is a wood stove used for heating the home. With a chimney and stove pipe that not only serve their actual purpose, the stove pipe extends through the roof on the outside lending a very rustic and interesting feel to the home. You can almost smell the homemade stew wafting out of the stovepipe on a cold day as this tiny house rests in a wooded glen.

Further through the bottom level is the kitchen which is largely consumed by Pine base cabinets and a live edge countertop. It is a beautiful feature and truly shows the functionality of nature. One side of the kitchen is work space while the other holds a pantry, a custom made copper sink, and Mexican tilework.

While there currently is no plumbing or electricity, there is a foot pump system for water and the house is wired to be quickly converted for shore power. It almost seems that modern conveniences would steal away from this charmer though.

At the end of the house are two salvaged sconces (one on either side), two slender stained glass windows, and a small door that can constitute an emergency egress away from the wood stove.
