Meet Lady Bluebird

With the conveniences of home, this sunny, lovingly and professionally refurbished 1996 Bluebird bus conversion will provide you with a safe, nurturing base camp for all of your adventures.

In her former life, Lady Bluebird lived and worked in a small Colorado ski village transporting folks from town to the ski slopes and back again. Lady was gently used and well maintained by her previous owners. In her retirement, following the conversion, Lady was titled as a motorhome making registration and insurance a straight forward process.

We purchased her few years later, and gave her another major upgrade.  We had a completely new engine and transmission installed by a professional shop in November 2020, setting her up for thousands of trouble-free miles.

Since then, Lady Bluebird has been used for road trips, weekend getaways, and the occasional guest-house duty, always starting easily and driving smoothly.

Exterior

- Robin’s egg blue exterior (may need a coat of paint)

Interior

Inside, Lady Bluebird feels like a warm, comfortable cabin rather than a bus. The craftsmanship from her conversion gives her a unique personality while keeping everything practical and functional.

- Rear queen-size bed with mounted Smart TV
- Full bathroom with glass vessel sink, repurposed vintage dresser vanity, and stand-up shower
- Kitchen includes:
---> 3-way Norcold refrigerator (propane/electric/12V)
---> Full-size stainless range and oven

- Propane On-demand water heater
- Blue Flame 20,000 BTU heater
- Bright, open living area with built-in storage and LED lighting throughout

All appliances were purchased new during the conversion, and everything still works great.

Power & Utilities

Lady Bluebird can operate either plugged into shore power or completely off-grid.

- 110V or 240V shore power hookup.
- Solar setup:
---> 1 × 130-watt panel
--->2 × 6-volt deep-cycle batteries
--->Inverter (expandable system)
- Includes 15 gallon propane tank on board, PLUS easy hookups to exterior tanks for easy swapping when docked for a long time.
- Honda 4000 generator included for backup power
- 65-gallon freshwater tank, and can also connect directly to water line in an RV park.
- Grey and black tanks for extended off-grid stays.

Mechanical

- 8.3L Cummins diesel pusher engine — completely replaced in November 2020
- Automatic Allison transmission — brand new in November 2020
- 126,031 miles on chassis, only a few thousand on the new drivetrain
- Air-ride suspension and brakes
