About
Very happy with this house. We purchased it from the guy who built it and he did a great job. We used it for a year but had to expand due to family size.
It was never finished on the inside and was used as a main bedroom.
The trailer dimensions are 20x8. Since it's built inside the wheel wells it's smaller. The floor is 15' 3" x 5' 6". The loft 6x5'6". The loft extends 2' over the tongue.
There is great potential. The loft fit our full size 10" mattress with room on the side. The stairs are custom and easily removable. I can offer great practical insight on how to finish the space. We had ideas for the most space saving options but didn't get around to it. The windows have built in blinds. I installed a new window AC that works perfect for the space and keeps it nice a chilly! I put it in the wall near the top of the stairs. I didn't completely finish the hole but it works fine. The part of the siding that is wood shrunk after we moved it to El Paso due to the crazy sun here. It should be replaced. Not a big job at all. It is a tiny house after all and has half metal siding. I can do the siding if you want and especially if it seems to be an issue for moving it. I will add current pictures as soon as I can. The pictures are of when we bought it and original decor. Then soon after when we installed 2 layers or reflectix insulation and wood panels. We secured the panels with trim and finished in the shou sugi ban fashion. The tires are all new with about 1500 miles on them. In Michigan where we bought it they had no method or regulations on titleing or registering a tiny house. I tried, and to my amazement they said don't do anything. It wasn't illegal and didn't need a license plate due to there being no rules. The house couldn't be removed from the trailer to be able to title the trailer.. and the house couldn't be registered as an RV. Therefore they literally said don't worry about it. Anyway, I have the bill of sale. That's it.
I did try to weigh it and I think it's around 5-6000 pounds. Unfortunately I can't find the picture of the scales display with the weight.
It is a great house and I wish we didn't have to sell it. Somebody will be getting a great solid start.
Oh also we have a fridge/freezer we got for it. It has tons of space but not too big. I will find a pic of that too. Our plan was to use an instant pot and induction burner and that was all for the kitchen. Oh! And a nice solid mirror vanity built into the wall.
Will update asap!
Thanks for looking!
Update:
More pics. Sorry it is dirty. There is still some storage stuff in it. There is no electrical other than a light that is just plug in. We used a 110 extension cord and it was fine for our needs. The door is weathered. It is not an exterior door. I would replace it. As a whole, it is a solid house and can be made into something great. It needs it's TLC.
It is very small and it's not for everyone.
I think it's perfect for 1 person maybe 2. I have seen smaller for 1 person but that's just too tight in my opinion. Please be serious and know that it does need work .
