The question if often asked. “How small must a tiny house be?” That is then followed with “Do you have to build it or can it be some other mobile home?” Great questions but certainly antiquated ones. The size of a tiny house is relative to the owner and a tiny house can be built on a tiny house trailer, on a salvaged trailer, or even on an old RV trailer. A tiny house on wheels can even be a camper or RV that is already built. Consider this motorhome. Manufactured in 2002, the 296 square foot tiny house has as much charm as any DIY build. Best of all, it doesn’t require a truck to tow it. It is a singular chassis with structure and engine on the same build! It also has low miles - 35,000 to be exact - new tires, and more! At $29,000 this charmer will not last long.
Inside the motorhome has been personalized and painted with hints of glass tile, ceramic tile, and more. It has two captain’s chairs at the front that both swivel and offer a comfortable drive. It also has an engine cover that makes a great console for cup holders, chargers of all sorts, and a navigation system.
The color theme of the house is very earthy but in a nautical way. With blue and some greens, it is a charming house, full of personality and charm.
Behind the front seats is the main area and living room. The hydraulic slide begins right behind the driver’s seat and houses a large pull-out sofa. Above the sofa are overhead storage bins as one would imagine and across is the kitchen with a standard RV stove and oven, small stainless steel, dual sink, and a drop-down extension counter. Behind the sink and stove is stainless steel stick-on tiling, which lends a classic look to the rig. The kitchen also has a large RV fridge that runs off electricity and propane.
Zig-zagging back across the floor (next to the sofa) is the dining table and chairs. While the table isn’t that large it does seat 4 adults comfortably. The table also drops down to help create another bed for guests. The dinette leads into a bathroom area with an elevated RV commode, a sink, and countertop space. To keep the mobile home compact, the fiberglass shower stall is across from the commode and is little more than a stall with a drink and spigot.
The real heart of the home is the rear of the chassis which holds the double bed with wrap-around storage and reading lights. The egress windows are also in the master bedroom lending not just safety, but also ventilation.
All-in-all, this home is a standard mobile home plan but is ready for personalizations and some gutting. It runs great and is now listed at just $29,000. Interested in this mobile home? Contact Chelsea at 843-417-9157 to get more details, discuss pricing, or learn more.
