About
Hello. The houseboat was custom made in 1986. It is 30 feet by 12 feet wide and about 9 feet in height. It is constructed of pressure treated lumber and pressure treated plywood. The flotation tanks are recycled household oil drums. There is a total of 10 of them welded together, 5 on each side. Several of the tanks have small holes in them that need to be welded or replaced. In 2009 I did many upgrades, new interior, new windows, exterior paint and new roof carpet. There is a 12-volt electrical system with solar panel for charging, that run lights and fresh water. There is a toilet with a holding tank, no shower. There is also a 2-burner gas cooktop inside with ample storage. Exterior has front seating with stairway to roof top deck. Small back deck with grill and room to store coolers. There is an outboard on it now but it is not for sale.
The problem with the floatation tanks is that they are just old and the steel is getting weak and should be patched in several spots. The boat is sea-worthy, has never sank. It survived the hurricane last year with no problem. Some one interested could make this a really great houseboat if it was re-floated with dock floats. I have priced them out and it's about 3500 for floats and 1500 for labor. . Any boat hauling company with out any special permits could easily trailer this vessel. Any SERIOUS inquiries can look at it at the marina where it is stored in the Newburyport area.
