About
Southeastern North Carolina, in a town called Roseboro, sits a 249 sq.ft. tiny house that is as cute as a button. Built on a Tumbleweed 20-foot trailer, the tiny house on wheels is a shed roof design inspired by Vina's Tiny House in Ojai, California.
The exterior of the house is a combination pattern of ribbed siding (OSB using a batten style) and composite cedar shakes. The paint theme blends in well with a natural setting in that it is a clever mix of sweet pea green and caramelized light brown. There are 7 windows of different sizes and shapes and entry into the home is a sliding glass door.
Once inside the space opens into the vaulted ceiling living space complete with a bay window to the right. The interior walls are covered with yellow pine T&G from floor to ceiling. The floor is a darker vinyl and the ceiling is a stained T&G. The living room ceiling also has a skylight to let in a gracious amount of ambient light. The bay window area is designed as a workspace with a floating desk and a window for natural light.
Moving left through the house is the galley kitchen. Within the kitchen is an Atwood two-burner stovetop, a three-way Dometic RV fridge, and a copper farm sink. The working side of the kitchen has base cabinets and a mid-level pantry as well as a gliding window above the sink. There are no wall cabinets or shelves as the kitchen is below the sleeping loft.
On the other side of the kitchen is a large set of base cabinets anchored by a live edge countertop. At the end of the countertop is a floor-to-ceiling cabinet that can act as a dry storage pantry or a hanging closet.
Moving to the end of the house is the bathroom, which houses a 32-inch shower stall with a rainfall showerhead, and a Natures Head Composting Toilet. The exposed walls are covered with corrugated tin and the shower stall is fiberglass. In the bathroom is a Marey tankless hot water heater and also a window for ventilation and air circulation.
Sleeping in the tiny house is in the loft accessible by steps that are crafted out of the cabinets in the kitchen. The loft itself can accommodate a queen size mattress and also has a cubby area at the headboard, open shelves on the side of the bed, a skylight, and a round window at the headboard as well.
In both the sleeping loft and the workspace the electrical outlets have built-in USB slots in addition to standard 110 volts.
While there is no AC unit, the tiny house on wheels does have a working ceiling fan and a propane RV furnace for cold months.
In terms of power, this listing Can be powered by a generator or by solar panels. The panel system is included in the sale but does need to be hooked up by a licensed electrician or solar specialist.
