About

Tiny Houses on Wheels are defined by a number of adjectives. Few can confidently be described as “just plain cool” but this 24’, tandem axle listing is just that, cool! From the shed roof design and cedar lap siding to the wood finish interior and live edge countertops, it is both efficient in size and stylish in design. There are 11 windows of varying shapes giving the home an eclectic look while allowing for plenty of natural light inside. This tiny was completed in 2020 and has never been lived in!

Entry to the home is at the end of the house which really saves on usable floor space as neither of the long sides is compromised by an inward swinging door. Once inside there is a live edge, spalted maple desk counter that can serve as either an eating space, a working space, or just miscellaneous shelving. Overhead is an 8’ x 4’ junior loft that can easily fit a twin mattress or act as a hangout space. At one end of the loft is a cute, paned window that allows for ventilation as well as a transom at the other end for light. The walls throughout are 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood walls with hemlock trim (both finished with tung oil). Because the sheets are 4’ x 8’ a batten effect is used to give a really unique interior style.

Moving through the house the edge of the counter is connected to a large pantry/wardrobe that makes for great storage space. Then comes the kitchen which includes a propane-powered 3-burner stove, a dorm-sized refrigerator, and a stainless steel sink. Below the counter is an open-faced cabinet as well as two shelves that each have a rolling stainless steel basket insert and 3 traditional drawers, while above the counter is a set of open shelves and a dish storage piece. The backsplash is tin tile, adding to the unique look of the house.

Perhaps what is most comfortable about the entire house is that there the entire “driver’s side” of the house is just a wall, free of cabinetry and countertop.

At the end of the THOW is the private bathroom which features an NSF-certified, Sun-Mar composting toilet and a shower stall powered by (and kept warm!) by an on-demand hot water heater (propane). Above the bathroom is the main sleeping area which measures 8’ x 8’ and easily accommodates a queen-size bed. Access to the loft is by angled ladder.

The house is built with a 30-amp electrical system and is kept cool and warm by rigid foam insulation. The roof is standing seam metal. While there is no built-in heat or A/C the house is so well insulated a small space heater keeps it warm and a window unit AC can keep it cool. There is LED lighting throughout the house as well.

This listing was built in 2016 and is still every bit as sound and stylish as it was 6 years ago when it first became a residence. For an affordable home, this is a solid bet. All plausible offers should hurry though as the listing just won’t last long. Call Chelsea at 843-417-9157 to find out more.
