About
This is a 2017 enclosed cargo trailer fabricated by Double R Trailers in Nampa, ID. We had the trailer shell custom built to our specifications. We then converted the interior into a tiny home that could function on or off-grid, no matter where we chose to live. We decided to convert a cargo trailer because it weighs significantly less than traditional tiny home construction and is therefore easier to tow. Another benefit is that it is discreet and looks more like a construction/snowmobile trailer than a home. We are a young married couple and have lived in this tiny home full-time for two years all over the Rocky Mountain region (Montana, Wyoming, and Colorado). However, it would also make an excellent weekend warrior camper, seasonal adventure rig, or guest suite. Pride of ownership is evident in the meticulous construction and maintenance of this home-on-wheels, including custom-built birch cabinets, cherry wood floor and countertop, ample storage for gear, and high-end solar electrical system. This thing is ready for its next adventure!
Dimensions:
• 18’ x 8’ box (length includes the v-nose)
• 6’ 10” interior ceiling height
• 3,500lb curb weight, 7,000 GVWR
• 2 5/16” hitch ball
Below is a list of highlighted features. If you have any specific questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate to request more information or photos:
• Three, 100 Watt Solar panels (300 Watts total) with room for one additional panel. Renogy MPPT charge controller with 400 Watt capacity. Two, 155 Ah deep-cycle AGM batteries (310 Ah total) with Powermax 45 Amp battery charger (for trickle charging the batteries when connected to shore power)
• Below are features that run off-grid (powered by solar):
o ShurFlo water pump with debris strainer and accumulator tank (for sink and shower)
o Two Fantastic Vent fans (bi-directional, three modes) – One installed in kitchen and one installed in bathroom shower
o LED lights – Three controlled via wall switch and two others controlled locally
o USB and 12V outlets in bedroom
o Propane detectors (two installed for redundancy)
o 20,000 BTU propane furnace
• 30 Amp shore power cable with 15 Amp plug adapter
• Below are features that run on AC and therefore require shore power (NOTE: There is no inverter installed in this unit, so all AC appliances require shore power)
o Hot water heater (2.5 gallon, delivers hot water to sink and shower)
o Fridge with separate freezer compartment (3.1 cubic ft. total)
o Convection oven
o Built-in dehumidifier
o Four AC duplex outlets inside the coach (factory installed) with breaker panel inside coach
• Dual, 20 lb propane tanks
• Newly installed, never-before used Flame King propane cooktop with dual burners
• 20,000 BTU Suburban propane furnace (oversized for the space for rapid heating)
• RV-style cellophane bubble insulation in ceiling, walls, and floor with additional layer of foam board insulation in the floor
• Carbon Monoxide and smoke detectors
• 25 gallon grey water tank with RV-style outlet
• Three tinted windows which each open and have screens (the large window in the bedroom is also an emergency exit with quick-detach latches)
• RV style man door with additional screen door for summer nights
• Custom-built cherry countertop with epoxy finish (very durable and water resistant)
• Baltic birch cabinets and pantry with soft-close hinges
• Four kitchen drawers (open fully)
• Large closet and spacious under-bed storage area accessible from both inside and outside the unit (great for skis, fishing rods, camping gear, etc.)
• MegaHitch Lock Coupler Vault Pro ($200 heavy-duty hitch lock)
• Spot Trace anti-theft GPS tracking device mounted inside the unit (included with purchase if you want to take over the service contract – service cost is about $15 per month)
• Spare tire
• Dual scissor jacks in rear
NOTE: There is no black water tank or toilet included. We tried various options, including compost-style units, before we settled on a Thetford cassette toilet.
The bathroom ceiling height is shorter than the rest of the unit because the grey water tank is installed INSIDE the coach underneath the elevated bathroom floor. Floor-to-ceiling height in the bathroom is 5’ 9”.
There is NOT a shore hookup for water. We filled 5-gallon Culligan jugs at the grocery store and the water pump pulled directly from them. We will happily include our three water jugs if you want them. Shore water hookup could be added by you if desired.
The bed/sleeping deck is 49” wide by 77” long.
We are willing to deliver within 50 miles of Laramie or further for a fee. Feel free to call or email with any questions, and thanks for looking!
