Live tiny on the river in downtown Durango starting this fall! This custom built shipping container home is located in Island Cove mobile and tiny home community. Enjoy Animas River access from the park’s private island along with nature trails and a bike path steps from your front door. Celebrate the seasons in one of the best yards in the park from the oversized deck.

This container home was professionally built in 2020 in a 40’ high cube (9.5’t) shipping container. A spacious feeling 320 sf includes an open kitchen, living, and dining area, one bedroom, and 3/4 bath. The kitchen features custom cabinetry, free-standing fridge, dual burner gas cooktop, and combination microwave/convection oven. Oversized windows flood the interior with natural light while the pine walls and ceilings add warmth and coziness. The bedroom includes a built-in platform queen sized bed with drawers and under-bed storage. Under-floor storage cubbies are perfect for stowing shoes and seasonal items. A built in closet provides ample storage space and houses a combination washer/dryer unit.

The tiny home is heated and cooled with a mini-split heat-pump unit. For colder days, a wood burning stove heats the space up in minutes. A tankless water heater provides unlimited hot water, and a heat recovery ventilator ensures fresh air is circulated within the space.



Note: Only a Certificate of Completion from the City of Durango Building Department and a Bill of Sale will convey with the sale of this tiny home. As such, a mortgage and other types of home loans may not be applicable.

Island Cove terms: 1 dog is permitted. Lot rent is $835/month which includes trash/recycling, mow service & leaf clean-up in the fall. Security deposit $835, 1 year lease. Tenants must be over 18 and pass a background check as part of the rental application. There is a $60 rental application fee. Community amenities include onsite laundry facilities, garden plots ($90 for the season), communal fire pit, and 2-acre private island
