About

This is an amazing well thought out camper van that will take you anywhere and you can be self-sustainable and have stealth capabilities, a solar panel system, comfortable open interior set up and can easily be converted to run off vegetable oil! Whether you're ready to get away from it all or get to work this van has it all!

2001 Ford E-350 Extended cargo van
195,000 miles (this is practically new for a diesel)
7.3 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel (one of the most powerful sought after engines in existence!)
Kelly Blue Book $5600 +
Internet Market Price Range: $3500 (poor condition) - $7000 (Excellent condition)
Asking price 9000 obo

This baby will run for another 300,000 miles easy if you take good care of her like we have. Everything on her runs solid, there are no leaks, or knocks, squeals or clunks. The A/C runs cold and all lights, gauges, blinkers etc. are working great. We have a clean title and a few goodies to throw in if you'd like. We have put around $6000 worth of equipment and repairs into this vehicle, making it worth about $11,000. We've definitely had our fun with it so we know we have to drop the price, so we're asking $9000 obo. This van is one of a kind and is perfect for someone who's looking for a different lifestyle. This was not only our travel van, but we lived in this all year round so taking good care of it was a must for us, not an option because breaking down would have left us without a home!
We were planning on converting it to run on vegetable oil and this engine makes an excellent candidate. That is why we chose this particular engine. I have extensive files I have saved from my research that I'd be glad to give you if you plan on doing upgrades, tunes or conversions. We used this van almost exclusively on road trips across the U.S., and it never gave us any problems. It gets about 12-15 mi/gallon in the city and can get up to 21mi/gallon highway. 21 is the highest we've seen, and this was with us adding a fuel cleaner to the tank before trips and NOT going 80mph. There are also tuners and several other things you can do to increase gas mileage. It's difficult to get good mpg on vans this size, but possible with some care and attentiveness. And it pulls anything! We've pulled 35 foot RV's no problem. Up hills, no problem.

Try doing that with a VW vanagon!

We bought the van from a guy who used it for a cleaning work van, so the paint job is for a 24 hour emergency property damage business which makes it very stealthy, we've parked and slept in downtown's and neighborhoods all over the U.S., and have never been harassed.

Try doing that with your bus conversion or RV!

All in all this van is set up to be a self contained living environment, that will allow you to go just about anywhere and still be at home without attracting attention. With the installation of a veggie oil system, you could eliminate your rent, gas, electric, water/wastewater/trash and property tax bill all at once. For most people this means a savings of more than the price of the van. RV's are no good to drive through town, VW vanagons break down constantly and are underpowered, School bus conversions are tough but not as easy to drive and expensive to fix.
This van is the perfect niche vehicle for someone who values freedom. Not just freedom from bills, but freedom to travel, to live and sleep and work wherever you want without being pushed into a trailer park or campground.
We've really put a lot of time and money into this vehicle, but it's time for us to settle down on the farm and take our travel to overseas. In the last 6months we have upgraded or replaced/repaired:
($600) Waterpump and coolant flush and fill
($150) Serpentine Belt
($100)Transmission Fluid Change (total flush)
($800) New starter and solenoid and 2 van batteries
New fuel filter
2 K&N air filters (these are LIFETIME air filters and never need replacing)
($120)A/C recharge
($800) 4 michelin ltx tires M/S
New ball joints
Alignment
($200)Alarm system
($450) 12,000 pound tow package
($100)Cd player
Fresh oil change

Goodies:
We installed all the electrical equipment from the solar panel to the vent and refrigerator for road trips and mobile work in mind. Never did we run the batteries past ½ capacity. This system will work great for all your basic needs. The fridge and vent run off the panel. We ran our computers, phones, battery chargers, etc.

($700) Roof mounted SunTech 36volt 180watt solar panel
($200) Morningstar Sunsaver microcontroller
($520) 2 deep cycle Die Hard Platinum Sears house batteries (100 amp hours ea, under 2 year warranty)
($50) 200 watt Inverter.
($700) CF 50 Dometic marine refrigerator(still under warranty) that can actually freeze food! No more buying ice! This is one of the most energy efficient mobile refrigerators made for boating applications and one of only a few options for dependable solar powered refrigeration. Includes mounting kit, AC AND DC adaptors so you can plug it in and use it anywhere
($220)Fantastic Vent Endless Breeze low amp draw 12volt fan installed in ceiling AND an additional free standing Fantastic vent low amp 12volt fan (important for those warm nights, and venting moisture out of the van

Interior
We built the bedframe, drawers and storage ourselves to be completely modular. The side boxes, bedframe and drawers can all be taken out in minutes if you want to use the van for cargo. There are no screws or nails in our woodwork. All joints were done with dowels or dovetailing. We put about $700 worth of wood into the interior and plenty of labor. This was a nightmare of a project and took several months, and I highly recommend not doing it yourself. While the floor plan is very open, there is tons of storage inside. Two of us fit everything we owned into the van and this included a drawer for tools and automotive care. The only thing that needs to be re-done is the walls. We had installed 4x8 sheets of wood from Home Depot and then covered them with bamboo veneers. We ended up creating art on the walls, so took them out as memories. The furring strips are still intact, so it's as easy as just screwing them up. The sheets are very inexpensive too and I can give you the contact info for the bamboo veneers if you like the way those look. Unfortunately, without the walls it doesn't give it quite the pzazz. Even just hanging sheets, or molding leather in would work well. This would be a way for you to customize it yourself and add colors you like. It is wood heavy right now, and we loved it but know that might not be for everyone!

-80 sq ft Mahogany Floors
-Custom design cedar side storage boxes, still smells like sweet cedar wood inside!!
-Custom pine bed frame w/slide out drawers on tracks
-Red oak support slats for bed (the slats were done so that hinges could be installed and they would slide up to make a bench seat from the front or back of the bed while sitting on the drawer tops!!)
-4 ½ '' memory foam mattress
-Leather ottoman for seating/storage

This van is ready to go on a trip today. For the buyers sake, I have not included pictures of the side of the van. I'm sure hundreds of people will see this ad, so I won't give away the secret and we'll keep it stealthy for you! I'll be happy to send you the pictures if you email me and are interested. I will also include some little things like tools and lights that come in handy to save you some extra time and money.

I am currently living out in Red Rock, south of Bastrop, but come into Austin a few times a week and can meet you there to take a look at it!
