About
It is a new year. It is time to make some changes. The window looking out of your office is no longer enough. You need to feel the breeze whipping through your hair. You need to throw a comfy hoodie on that still faintly smells like diesel from the last truck stop. You long to wake up with nothing more than the Sand Flats at Moab in front of you. This is your chance! In fact, The Highway House has been from Delaware to California, from Alabama to Wisconsin and is ready for your next adventures.
At 60 square feet this 15’ long Dodge Ram ProMaster van has been fully converted to include a single bed, a small kitchenette with sink, a commode, and ample storage. With less than 53,000 miles on it the van is in sound condition and ready to go back on the road.
Entry through the rear cargo doors reveals a single bed on the left which hides storage for miscellaneous items as well as much of the solar system. In addition the four 100-watt solar panels fastened to the top of the van, there is also a Renogy Rover Charge controller, a power inverted, and two 200-amp batteries.
Above the bed is a storage area that could be used for seasonal clothing, recreation items, or non-perishable food items. Next to the bed is a small closet that holds the composting toilet. Conveniently the toilet does slide beneath the bed as well to allow the closet to be used for maximum storage.
Across the floor of the van is the kitchenette. A stainless steel butler sink is recessed into the countertop which is large enough for quite a bit of food prep. At the end of the counter and just at the sliding side door is a custom bench with a hinged top that lifts open to reveal the Dometic fridge. The butler sink is connected to a two-container sink hidden underneath and accessible at the rear van doors. One container holds fresh water while the other holds gray water. They are easy to remove, dump, and fill. There is also an overhead storage bin above the kitchenette.
The van is not as luxurious as some but it is certainly functional and quite nice for a single traveler. The asking price barely covers the cost of the unconverted van so it is certainly a deal for its next owner.
