About
Please call 843-417-9157 to inquire.
There have been very few tiny houses on wheels inspired by a butterfly roof element. Since it first appeared around 1950, the V shape roof (or butterfly shape) displayed a look thought to only be for aesthetics. Turns out the design is great for off-grid homes that desire water catchment or for severe wind resistance. Nonetheless, this beautiful modern steel-framed tiny house sits on a heavy-duty tandem axle, 28ft. long trailer.
The exterior of the home is a mix of stained wood, grey horizontal siding, and grey metal siding panels. The home has an entry deck that easily folds up for transit and down for an extended entry or living space. Unlike most tiny houses there is no traditional entry but rather a sliding glass door. The house has standing seam metal roofing with boxed-in eaves for ultimate protection against pests and moisture. There are 5 windows on the house which while seeming sparse are actually size appropriately, offering cross-ventilation and ambient light.
Once inside the home, a quick turn to the right reveals the sitting area or living room. It is there we find a low, Zen couch and a completely disguised Murphy bed, as well as a tremendous amount of storage, all made of high-quality oak, as the storage is throughout the house. Next to the couch is also a drop-down table, perfect for two to eat or one to work. Across from the couch is a mounted flat-screen television recessed into a storage closet. Beyond the living room is the kitchen which is every bit as functional and fancy as a larger kitchen in a more traditional home.
Passing from the living area to the kitchen is through a walkway where there is a full-length closet for storing clothes or a pantry area for dry goods, as well as a built-in room for a full-size fridge that flows directly into the kitchen workspace. There are both closed base cabinets and cupboard storage. The corner of the kitchen cabinets has a lazy susan for easy access to a wealth of kitchen tools. Across from the countertop is room for a small, hybrid washer/dryer. In this area is also the ladder leading up to the loft bedroom, which has room for a full-size mattress and a bit of meditation space. The loft is cozy but still features parallel windows for ventilation.
Below the loft is the bathroom. To keep it private from the rest of the house is an oak barn door with wrought iron hardware. The shower stall is a bit oversized and is made up of corrugated metal walls. The water is kept hot by a tankless hot water system. The bathroom also has a Natures Head composting toilet as well as a sink and vanity. It is plumbed for a more traditional flush system though.
The house on the whole is tiny living at its best. It is sleek, stylish, and high-performing. It is available and is currently in Denver, Colorado. Interested in this tiny house? Contact Chelsea at 843-417-9157 to get more details, discuss pricing, or learn more.
