From its bold red front door to its well-appointed bathroom complete with stand up shower stall and vented washer/dryer combo, the Athena 24’ long tiny house on wheels built by Decathalon Tiny Homes in the DFW, Texas area is a beautiful, budget-friendly home option.

The THOW is a single level unit that measures 24ft long by 8ft wide and 13.5ft tall for a total of 192 sq. ft. with another 40 sq.ft. in the storage lof area.

Upon entering through the out-swinging door you are immediately in the heart of the kitchen area which features a 2-burner cooktop, a vented Microwave, and a Hair 9.8 cu.ft. refrigerator/freezer. While the kitchen isn’t huge it is functional in that it has a deep basin sink with brushed gold faucet, open shelving units, a butcher block countertop, and 2-burner cooktop. The kitchen drawers have brushed gold cabinet pulls and the flooring throughout is Lifeproof luxury vinyl.

The living space towards the center of the house can accommodate a 6 ft. long sofa and also has a drop-down table/desk; comfortable and functional! The interior walls are constructed with traditional framing methods and skinned with white shiplap panels.

The stars of the show are the bathroom and downstairs bedroom though. The bathroom has a standard 1-piece flush commode, a 3’ x 3’ dual-threshold shower stall, an exhaust fan overhead, a vessel mounted bathroom sink and a 30-gallon REEM water heater.

The private, downstairs bedroom is concealed by a wooden barn door and once opened, reveals a platform for a queen mattress with large drawers underneath for ample clothing storage. There is also an LG 12,000 BTU Mini Split HVAC Unit that blows directly overhead. And if that weren’t enough there is a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe with a hanging bar right next to the bed. It truly is a wonderful and cozy space to get a great night’s sleep!

The home itself is built on a Trailer Made tandem-axle trailer and has a gross weight of just 11,500 pounds. It can be comfortably towed by a ¾ ton pickup truck. The siding is painted LP SmartSide and the roofing is an Onduvilla system. The home is all-electric on a 50amp service and has spray foam insulation as well as 6 crank-case windows, 1 glider, and 1 glass pane on the entry door.
