Originally purchased with the intention of living and traveling in full-time, this 2001 34 ft. Thomas Saf T Liner high roof schoolbus has been converted into a beautiful and comfortable (as well as healthy) home.



Immediately upon purchase, the original owners gutted the inside, removing all the panels and insulation as well as removing all the windows in order to clean and reseal them. To this day the skoolie remains weather tight and leak-free. The family lived full-time on the bus for 3 years, traveling throughout Florida and ultimately relocating to Western North Carolina. During this time it underwent some changes and upgrades. But with a growing family at the wheel, this bus is ready for new owners and new adventures.

Part of what makes this bus so trustworthy on the open road is that it has a rear engine with CAT 3126 block. It also has an Alison MD3060 transmission with only 233k miles. The radiator has been re-cored and the hoses replaced with silicon ones. This listing starts easily and reliably each and every time. In terms of infrastructure, there is a 100-gallon freshwater tank and a 100-gallon greywater tank that has an RV gate valve for sewer dumping and cleanout. There is two 20lb. propane tanks on board with an auto-switch for items such as the stove range in the kitchen and the Eccotemp hot water heater. The temperature is moderated by a Pioneer 12,000 BTU Mini Split AC/heat pump and water is powered by a Shurflo water pump.

Toward the middle of the largest counter is a 21”, 3-burner Furrion stainless steel gas range and oven. There is a large sink across from the range and an oversized pantry next to it. Rounding out the space is an apartment-sized Whirlpool fridge/freezer. If that weren’t enough, the kitchen transition area also includes a Splendide washer/dryer unit!

Before reaching the bedroom is the bathroom which has a sink vanity and a 36”x36” tiled shower stall. The fixtures are copper. There is also a Nature’s Head composting toilet in the bathroom too.

Located in the rear of the bus is the bedroom which is occupied by a Queen size bed platform with open space for storage underneath. There is also an Ikea drawer system for even more storage.
