About
There are scores of school buses turned into rolling homes but many lack the sophistication and style of this 2007 Blue Bird. From its stark white exterior to its various shades of grey interior, the tiny house exudes modern elegance - and especially for a bus!
The Blue Bird is powered by a CAT C7 with an HEUI fuel system and Allison transmission with just 92,833 miles on it. The bus runs beautifully as if it just rolled off the assembly line. Mechanically speaking it has new parking brake chambers, fresh oil, greased and packed bearings, new fuel filters, new steer tires, all new incandescent marker lights, exterior LED lights on the side and rear, and backup camera equipment. No detail was overlooked including the black trim against the white paint which almost gives a feeling of racing stripes on this beast.
When entering the bus you are drawn to the brand new air ride seat which looks more than comfortable for a long cross-country run. Moving down the aisle of the bus there is a two-seater banquette for eating or working. Across from it is a custom made 4-person couch painted white with grey cushions that folds out into a bed for guests or crashing after a late night. The flooring throughout is a vinyl laminate product that looks like weathered wood but is perfect for high traffic. Overhead is certainly the piece-de-resistance: the 6” tongue & groove wood ceiling that runs from front to back.
The sleek kitchen features an oven, a fridge, and a stovetop. It also has a deep, stainless steel sink. There are base cabinets and a couple of small hanging cabinets for storage. The water in the kitchen and bathroom sink is heated by an AO Smith on-demand hot water heater. The tiny house on wheels also has a 75-gallon freshwater tank for off-grid living. Speaking of which…
The bus is powered off-grid by a 3000-watt Sun Gold Power pure sine wave inverter/charger with a 9000 watt surcharge, two Deep cycle hybrid GEL 12v Renogy batteries, a 75-gallon freshwater tank, two 30 lb. propane tanks mounted underneath for a total of 60 pounds of propane, two 40-gallon waste tanks, one 40-gallon of gray water, and one 40-gallon of black water.
The bathroom on board is as nice as any in a more traditional sticks and bricks home. There is a 32” x 32” shower stall, a Dometic 300 series toilet, a Shurflo 12V 45psi water pump, a Shurflo in-line water filter, and a Shurflo accumulator tank with 125 maximum psi.The bathroom is also adorned with whitewashed grey brick panel board.
In the rear of the bus is a queen sized bed with ample storage. There is also LED mood lighting throughout the bus which adds an even more svelte feel to the THOW. Most of all though is the roof deck and ladder on the roof above the bedroom area.
In terms of heating and air conditioning the Blue Bird uses a 15,000 BTU standing heat and air conditioner that vents out the window. It provides 60 degrees of air conditioning and up to 82 degrees of heat. Of course, this is helped by the R20 fiberglass insulation throughout.
At just under $60,000 the 2007 Blue Bird is going to go extremely quick. For more information please call Ashley 704-508-9046
