About
2000 International 3800 Thomas Built Bus
I have for sale my converted school bus (Skoolie). Here are some details on the conversion:
Roof: Houses the solar panels, sky light, maxfan, and an 8'×8' deck for enjoying a cold beverage.
Engine: T444E 7.3L Powerstroke Turbo-Diesel (this is arguably the best engine ever put into a bus). About 231,000 miles on the bus. Even has CRUISE CONTROL!
Transmission: not sure what exactly it is but it can cruise at 70 mph (we don't go faster than 65 though to get save on mpg)
Tires: all tires are in great shape. Our tire guy says we should have 50,000 miles before even thinking about needing new a new tire. We just replaced one of the front tires as well so they're balanced nicely.
Solar: 40 Amp Renogy MPPT charge controller with 3 100 watt solar panels and 4 125amp deep cycle batteries (this set up has been great, we have never even come close to being short on power and have not been conservative with our power use)
Battery isolator: we have a battery isolator hooked between the "car" battery and "house" battery that charges our house batteries when we drive. When we are not driving the isolator switches off and makes sure that no power is drawn from the car battery. It also has an emergency switch so if the car battery is dead you can jump the battery using the house batteries.
Fridge: COSTWAY Car Freezer, 54 Quart Compressor Travel RV Refrigerator (this thing is great. It uses very little power, we were without solar for a week and it ran off only the charge from the battery isolator. It also held enough food and drinks for a week in Yellowstone with 2 people)
Air conditioner: Shinco SPF2 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner - runs off of shore power, not solar, and cools the back very well. We haven't had to use it very much.
Grill: Smoke Hollow VT280B1 Vector Series, Portable Table Top Propane Gas Grill (only used a few times)
Paint: we painted the inside and outside. The inside white and outside white are both rustoleum. The gray/blue is valspar anti rust from lowes. They have been great and are supposed to stop any rust from forming. Theres was not rust before we painted (and there is still none)
Insulation: we insulated the floor with 3/4 in foam and then 1/2 in subflooring before putting in the waterproof wood floor on top. The rest of the bus was factory insulated so we left that. We have slept in the bus in 40° and were completely fine with just a standard comforter and not heater on. We actually left the front windows open two of the nights and the back stayed warm.
Water: we have a 55 gallon water tank that has been great. We have water in the kitchen and an outdoor shower out the back door. We found that with a full tank the two of us can go a week without needing a fill up (without using the outdoor shower). We have a 45 gallon grey water tank mounted under the bus
Toilet: NATURES HEAD composting toilet. We hooked it up to the gray water tank so you never have to empty liquids.
There is a lot else in the bus (custom screens, magnetic curtains, carbon monoxide detector, ect.) that would take too long to list.
Willing to include a lot of extras including a yeti, several power cords, cooking/kitchen stuff, fishing stuff, tubes, ect.
Asking $24,000 obo and DOES NOT include the motorcycle. Please only contact if you are a serious buyer!
