About

Wouldn’t you like to live in a home where no one truly realizes you are in fact ‘at home’? Such is the allure with this listing. Still looking original, the 29’ Freightliner FS-65 is powered by an Allison 2000 automatic transmission. Converted into a beautiful skoolie in 2019, the inside is anything but normal.

Walking up through the Thomas Safety Doors, the cockpit of the bus does look stock, including the mounted auxiliary fan and riveted engine cover. There are some creature comforts added in though including an air lift driver’s seat But the school bus feel stops there. Turning left into the bus you’ll be met with a sea of beautiful woods, custom features, and comfortable furniture. The bus is fully insulated and the interior is lined with Poplar plywood and Alder wood.

The flooring is Hickory made by Pergo and is suitable for heavy foot traffic.

Along the left side of the bus (walking towards the rear) is a 6-foot couch with custom cushions and bolsters that doubles as a single bed with hidden storage. Across the aisle and situated across from the couch is a very cozy, inset Tiny Wood Stove that is vented out of the roof. Next to it is the start of the galley kitchen.

Designed in an L shape, the all-wood kitchen cabinetry cleverly obscures a Whynter dual compartment fridge/freezer, multiple flush front drawers, a 3-burner propane stove, and a foot-pump kitchen faucet with an enamel-coated stainless steel deep sink. Putting together a tasty meal is a joy on top of the teak butcher block countertop. The task lighting (like the rest of the lighting in the skoolie) is LED.

2 new NAPA batteries Type 31 STUD JUST installed and a new speedometer head!

Just past the kitchen and made completely private by a sliding pocket door, the bathroom features a full shower, a Nature’s Head composting toilet, and an Excel tankless on-demand hot water heater for those long, comfortable showers! Built into the wall between the bathroom and bedroom are Seattle Glass bricks that obscure actual detail but let a lot of natural light in the bathroom. Speaking of bedrooms, the tiny house on wheels has a bedroom in the handicap section of the bus. With headroom of 6’1”, the room has a raised platform bed that is accessible inside the bus and out (through the handicap door). This makes for excellent extra storage while the 9” Pure Green Latex mattress makes for excellent sleep.

The entire bus runs on a 30-amp system that connects to shore power through a dogbone adaptor. Because it has a 60-gallon freshwater tank and a 30-gallon grey water tank, the bus can run off-grid through the use of something akin to a Jackery as a power station w/solar suitcase.

All hoses, rugs, curtains, and cords are included with the sale of this eye-catching home. Listed at just $38,000 though, it won’t last long. To find out more contact Ashley at 704-508-9046 or email her at Ashley@Tinyhouselistings.com. Financing may be available.
