1989 XD 34ft Basement Model- Remodeled Tiny Home!

This wonderful trailer has been our home for the last four years, during which we have put a lot of time and money into renovating it and making it into a fully livable home. Though the trailer is fully mobile and we have moved it a number of times we have used it and built it out largely as a full time tiny home. It is the perfect space for a couple, with lots of storage and amenities for year round habitation. This was the last year Avion built these aluminum trailers and it is the largest model they made.The basement model not only offers lots of extra storage, it also elevates the trailer making for better views wherever it is parked. It is extremely well insulated and construction is widely considered superior to Airstream.

Renovations

Flooring
-Original flooring replaced with “hardwood” bamboo floors

Kitchen
-fully rebuilt cabinetry

Living Room
-fold-out “Friheten” Ikea couch, with storage beneath. fits space perfectly

-custom heat protection shield run up wall to chimney

-retro “Unique” fridge with bottom freezer

Bathroom

Bedroom
-new Allswell Mattress- purchased after we moved out last summer and only used a handful of times by guests.
-bed frame built into room with rolling storage drawers beneath, and a small shelf behind bed.
-custom black our shades for all windows
-reading sconces on both sides of bed

Plumbing
-outdoor shower installed with removable rod and shower curtain. Perfect for parking trailer somewhere beautiful outdoors.
-new Dometic propane/electric hot water heater
-all plumbing distribution linesredone with pex piping.
-designed to be attached to a hose when parked, and not currently set up to pump water without pressure.

Electricity
-electrical entirely redone by previous owners
-set up to be plugged into 220 mains power
-new inverter and fuse box installed for both DC and AC
-lots of 110 plugs throughout.

AC
-extra mini split AC installed in bedroom. Will keep you sleeping cold even during the hottest days of summer.
-original AC in Kitchen area is still functioning well.

Exterior
-overall in good shape with scratches here and there.
-Main awnings on both sides and front were removed because they had been broken by the previous owner.
-Some of the side tracking lights don’t work, as well as the right hand brake light. Never been a problem for us as we only moved it every few years.
-all 6 Tires replaced five years ago, and barely driven on, less than 1000 miles. Kept under tire covers.
-Breaks redone by previous owner and work well. Pigtail was just replaced
