About
I am sell my 11.9 ft. Yurt build by LaurelNestYurts.com
The Yurt itself is three years old, I lived in it for one of those years and she has seen two winters. I chose the 11.9 yurt due to building code restraints on the property and am now moving.
What I am selling
:
- Exterior wall and roof fabric is called "Polaris". It is used by many tepee companies and is a poly-cotton fabric with a vinyl coating. To increase its UV life I primed and painted both sides with a latex exterior plasticized marine paint. I apologize for the added chemicals but the cover is most of the cost in a yurt and painting them easily doubles or triples their life.
- The khanna (lattice walls) are pine, sanded, and stained. I have some extras to go along with the package.
- The rafters use a notching system to connect to the inner ring, preferable in my opinion to the typical pin/ hole locking system. The rafters are all sanded and have a polyurethane coating for extend their life
- The yurt has a full insulation package utilizing a Reflextix - radiant heat barrier/ with bubble wrap foil. I was able to live through two upstate winter with this and propane heat. Additional insulation can easily be added to walls and roof.
- I also have an interior roof liner. This is a second roof cover made of the same fabric and is the be used on the inside to cover up the Reflextix until the point when the exterior cover wears away and can then be used as a new roof cover replacing the old one.
- The yurt crown and plexiglass dome ring are included. The center dome opens and closes for preventing condensation.
- two full size 6 ft. tall double pane brand new and insulated windows. I opted for the real windows over the vinyl both for added structural strength and also because I plated to added insulated to the walls and didn't want to cover up my windows.
- one new fiberglass/ glass door
- I constructed the platform using pacific yurts free platform diagram. It was extremely simple and cost about $1,500 in supplies. I am happy to throw in all these materials. They include:
- plywood sub floor
- 2 in. insulation board
- 2x6 stained floor joists
- 4x8 cross beams
- hurricane ties and lag bolts for all joints
- roofing metal sheeting cut to size used underneath yurt to provide rodent barrier
- cinder block footers
What I paid (found at laurennestyurts.com):
yurt package (does not include insulation): $4030
complete insulation package - $1085
additional window frame (2) - $520 x 2 = $1040
roof liner - $265
platform - $1,500
door - $200
2 glass windows - $200 each = $400
total = $8520 plus platform materials
I have a detailed setup/ instruction guide to give you. It included pictures. I am also happy to remain available to answer any questions you have during your setup process.
