Zyl Vardos
Abel from Zyl Vardos recently contacted me to share his business that specializes in building high-quality vardos for people interested in living small.
He recently completed the “Fortune Cookie” for Kera which got some great feedback from Tiny House Listings readers. Here’s what Abel had to say:
I am a full service vardo, tiny house, and house-on-wheels builder, and can do all elements of building in-house: windows, doors, wood milling, welding and metalwork. This allows creativity and fluidity of design that a house needs (without the cost getting astronomical).
A house is like a really good story, the parts work together, even when you don’t realize it, to unfold into a new (and hopefully inspiring) form, or ‘ending’. At the same time, it will become a container for YOUR story, even when you don’t realize it!
My experience comes from many trades and experiences: carpentry, electrical design, boatbuilding, plumbing, electronics, theatrical lighting, and show management… To list just a few.
I believe in self sufficiency and enjoy incorporating reused building materials in a project.

I highly recommend Abel! He is a fantastic person to work with! He is prompt and easy to communicate with. He puts so much love into his work and it really shows.
Living in the Fortune Cookie is one of the most awesome things I could ask for. If you’re thinking of living in a creative small space, talk to him. I cannot say enough nice things about him.

Its amazing how many vardo/caravan and tiny house builders are out there now- a testament to how huge this movement and message is getting (def a good thing). Abe’s work is amongst some of the better examples I’ve seen recently- job well done sir.
