Tiny House Writing Contest
Readers of Tiny House Listings have a variety of backgrounds, skills, thoughts, ideas and stories to share. So I am hosting a writing contest to give them a chance to share their unique knowledge and experiences with other Tiny House Listers.
The contest will start today, November 16th 2011 and end on January 16th 2012.
Here’s how winners will be determined. Each article that is published will have Facebook “Like” and Twitter “Tweet” buttons at the top of them. The article that gets the most combined tweets and likes is the winner! The second most gets 2nd and the third most gets 3rd. After the last article is posted to the site, the winner will be announced one week later to allow the articles posted later in the competition to get good visibility.
Here are the prizes:
- First place – Wonderwash, a hand-powered washing machine for off the grid or small space living.
- Second place – “Smalltopia: A Practical Guide to Working For Yourself“
- Third place – “Backyard Sheds & Tiny Houses” from Tumbleweed Tiny House Company.
Each essay that is published will also get a plug to their business, blog (if they have one) or whatever link they would like to be linked to.
Here are some ideas on topics that your article can focus on:
- Your tiny house story
- Off the grid living
- Freedom by living tiny
- How you got involved with the tiny house movement
- DIY yourself tiny house projects
- Your upcoming plans to live tiny
- Someone you know that is living tiny
Your story can also deal with gardening, food preparation, saving money, etc., as long as it relates and deals with tiny homes to keep things relevant.
Your article MUST be original and not published anywhere else and must be at least 500+ words in length (1,000 is preferred).

Once your article is published to the site I will let you know. From there you can share it with friends to help get more likes.
