In 2010 Jono Williams and his friends began building “The Tree Bach”, a tiny treehouse in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
The treehouse was built mostly from reclaimed materials. Jono and his friends built much of the treehouse at night since the majority of them work fulltime jobs during the day. The Tree Bach is completely off the grid and has some really nice features like a radio controlled draw bridge for access to the treehouse, solar power, rain collection system, a fire heated bathtub and a surround sound system. In an important upcoming project, the crew plans to install a beer fridge. The total price of the entire project to date is $1,700.
