Property Description

This is a 1973 Ford American Road Camper. Only about 850 of them were manufactured.

With the leak-proof fiberglass shell and decades-before-her-time features, it’s a highly sought after collector’s item.

But, beyond all of that, it’s also a wonderfully cozy and comfortable home. We lived in this camper full time for a total of three months while travelling from Alaska to Tennessee. We = my husband, myself, 4yr old twins and a small dog.

This camper turns heads everywhere it goes. And *no one* believes us when we tell them it was made in 1973. No one. We’ve had dozens of total strangers become instant friends when they’d ask us if they can take a peek inside. Everyone who sees it, loves it.

While it was parked beside the house, I used the camper as my home office for almost a year. And we’ve spent quite a few weekends enjoying this home away from home.

Why we’re selling such a gem? ::: We’re moving into the city and won’t have anywhere to store her at our new home. And, while we love her and still use her for camping, it’s sad to see her parked. She deserves to be lived in!

:::Details:::
:: It sleeps 4 with a full sized bed in the cab-over section and a click-clack futon in the dining area. Removing the table is super fast and simple.
:: The cab-over area has plenty of head room for a full-grown adult to comfortably sit up. It’s essentially a loft bed. The bed up there is 54″ x 74″ and really comfy.
:: It has a complete kitchen with two-compartment sink, four-burner oven, stove, stove vent, 4.5 cu ft refrigerator and a microwave. There’s even decent counter space and tons of cabinet space.
:: The bathroom…yes, that says bathroom…has a small sink, mirror/medicine cabinet, updated toilet and shower.
:: The water tanks: 22 gallon fresh water tank, 6 gallon hot water heater, 22 gallon waste holding tank.
:: It has a new Suburban forced-air heater.
:: It’s completely self-contained. The lights, plumbing, everything works when dry camping. And would be ideal for living off grid.
:: It’s really roomy! The interior floor space is almost 12ft long x about 6ft wide.
:: It’s sunny! There are tons of windows and roof vents that let in lots of wonderful light. The new, updated cabinets are a light colored wood to make the most of all that light.
:: It’s completely updated and move-in ready. Which is huge! If you *can* find a Ford American Road Camper for sale, they’re typically gutted and in need of extensive remodeling and repairs. Ours is beautiful, fully functional and ready to be your home or home-away-from-home.

The perfect tiny house for anyone who’s looking to take the *rough* out of roughing it.

Note: The gooseneck shown in one of the pictures is not part of the sale.

Hi this is Larah, the seller. I’ve had a couple people ask, so I wanted to clarify: The truck isn’t not included in this price. The listing is for the camper only.

    Thanks everyone!

Alright folks. We’ve had so many requests to include the truck! So, we crunched the numbers and here’s what we can do.

The truck is a 1999 Super Duty F350 Crew Cab, with a V10 Triton engine. It’s in great condition. Upgrades to the truck include the TorkLift Tie downs, a PCV filter, air bag suspension, steering stabilizer, brake controller, custom Class V towing hitch (built to work with SuperHitch extensions), spray in bedliner, less than one year old Nokian tires and a brand new full size Nokian spare.

We’re ready to start the conversation for the camper-truck combo at $18,000.

I am definitely interested, but it would be at least 10/18 before I could come see it. Please let me know if it sells before then.

Is this camper still available? I keep thinking about it. I think I have the truck it was made for. A 1977 F250 camper special.
