About

We are selling our 1981 Ford Econoline Thomas Mini Bus! 57,000 original miles. A classic and a rare find!

Bus:

We have, over the past couple months, driven the bus across the country (up and down mountain roads) with not one problem. Its old yet trusty! It has a carbureted engine! We drive it with a lot of feeling. Once you get the hang of how to drive it, it is a smooth rider. It even drives nice at 75mph. We have added 4 quarts of oil in the past 5,000 miles. Brand new battery installed and an extra for charging. New exhaust and muffler. New stereo system and speakers. It is however a gas hog and drives around 12 mpg. Heat and air conditioning work. The bus received regular maintenance and oil changes. We are the second owners and are sad to see it go but we are moving to Austria and not shipping it over seas; The carburetor is tuned at about 800 feet and it would be suggested to be tuned to the altitude you plan at spending most of your time. You notice right away when it is tuned at the correct altitude or not.

Interior:

We spent a lot of energy in converting the Ecocline Thomas bus into a lovely yet simple home on wheels. It is all handmade custom work. The space is very bright and open unlike most campers or RVs. We incorporated beautiful quality wood; cedar, birch, diamond willow, redwoood and cherry. There is a murphy table(fold down table), hand pump sink, lots of storage, passive solar shower, a double sized bed with space to change to a queen sized if desired. Chalk board on door. Cozy carpeted floor, lots of shelving for books, plants, ect. Second lofted bed above drivers seat with ladder for children (can extend to a full length bed when necessary).

Passenger seat swivels extending the living space even more. We are not professional carpentry workers but we created a space that feels good to be in.

When possible we used eco building techniques and materials. The interior paint is original, asides from the blue accent, and in mint condition.
The bus is isolated well as we have yet to use heating or cooling.

Exterior:

For a Minnesota vehicle this old, the rust is very minimal but you will find some. We installed a bike rack to the back. The tires are like new and have a lot of life left with one extra full sized tire and a jack to change it. We recently painted the side panels grey/blue since the previous owners sanded the old lettering away, all other paint is original.

Add your solar panel and start traveling/living in your off grid home on wheels 🙂 Big enough for living and small enough to go on tight roads 😉

If you have any questions pet lease let us know!

$12,000 or best offer takes it!! Will trade for the right piece of land 🙂 We are willing to drive within reason for serious buyers. Call/text/email anytime.
